This Weekend! Titus Andronicus, The Dodos, The Noise FM, Keys N Krates, & More

Tonight! (Friday, September 20)

Who: The Dodos, CousinsWhen: 7:30 pm - 10:00 pmWhere: The High DiveCost: $15 in advance, $10 at doorAges: 19+Event LinkThe Dodos' country/bluesy/generally unpredictable indie sound hits The High Dive tonight.  (Jumps off The High Dive?  If there's a better pun out there, I can't find it.)  The duo, from San Francisco, released "Confidence" this year, and will definitely put on a good show of cool folk/psyche folk/baroque pop what-not.  I say "definitely" tentatively because they're hard to categorize exactly, but, regardless and like I said before, a good show is a'comin'.  Cousins, a Canadian pop/grunge band, throws in a hefty dose of musical juxtaposition to round things off.[soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/91597699" params="" width=" 100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]

Noise FM

Tomorrow! (Saturday, September 21)

Who: The Noise FM, Couches, Jon TraceyWhen: 9:00 pm - 11:30 pmWhere: Mike 'N Molly'sCost: $7Ages: 19+Event Link, Facebook EventAs part of their Attraction Tour (so named after their newest album), The Noise FM are hitting up Champaign to spread the love and their catchy brand of indie rock.   The Kansas-bred, Chicago-based band delivers a solid, authentic sound and will undoubtedly do so Saturday night.  Likewise, Couches, San Franciscans and music-makers with a sound straight from the '90s, know how to kick it and do the "retro" (if you can call music from the '90s retro) thing right.  Jon Tracey also adds in his musical two cents with his clever one-man indie.[soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/109297149" params="" width=" 100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]

Titus Andronicus

Sunday! (September 22)

Who: Titus Andronicus, Lost Boy

 When: 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Where: The Canopy ClubCost: $16Ages: 18+Event LinkTitus Andronicus, the punk/indie band from New Jersey with the coolest name around, will undoubtedly rattle the bones of anyone within a mile-or-so radius of The Canopy Club this Sunday night.  Sorry, kids.  You can sleep when you're dead.  (Or when your ears are from standing too close to the speakers.)  Monday mornings are already a crap fest, though.  Let's be (not-so-painfully) honest.  Getting rowdy with Titus Andronicus is worth being a little dead in the brain right as you start your week.  Also, Lost Boy.  Lost Boy, boasting a punk/alt sound from Brooklyn, are the whole package deal, and will get you seriously hyped as the opening act.[soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/100348409" params="" width=" 100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]
