Stream Tree's Debut EP "Demons" Now
The 20-year-old singer/rapper Oliver Nickell released the deput EP from new project Tree (not to be confused with the Chicago-based rapper). The EP was released earlier this week on Apollo Records and the title track, "Demons," makes for an interesting, dark start for his projcet. The other 2 tracks are a cover of Radiohead's "Karma Police" and the spacey "Stuck Down the Wrong Rabbit Hole." Both "Demons" and "Rabbit Hole" feature Beat Culture and Lena Kuhn and these are the better tracks on the EP. The "Karma Police" cover is a little interesting with the singing and rapping verses. But, the singing parts have some ridiculous contorted singing style that sounds like a speech impediment. The song is pretty good once it gets out of that.Without much experience other than some success in the west coast DJ scene, Tree arrives with a pretty good sound and style.
