A State of Dance 2/22/15 - All About That Drum & Bass

PizzaFM Blog PostDoing some liquid'ish, melodic DnB this upcoming session, sorry about the delay in getting this post up! I've been chocked with schoolwork but I haven't forgotten about you guys! This is going to be a bit tricky for me, since DnB isn't something that I have an extensive collection of. However, we're going to have a guest DJ playing alongside myself on Monday! He goes by the monikor "basic solution", and I'm super stoked to get in this upcoming mix!Going to flip it on the start here for anyone that doesn't know what this style of DnB is, with a remix of Oliver Helden's Last All Night (Koala). This is the Reso remix, and it totally embodies where I want this to go in terms of flow. He manages to effortlessly slow down KStewart's vocals and combines it with a smooth, rolling bassline that completely transforms the feel of the track. No more is it a 128bpm ground shaker, it's one high energy monster ready to burst:http://youtu.be/EvfMJz1kot4The flip for this week is a track that I can't exactly tell if it's truly DnB or not...I'll let you be the judge. It's on the brink between Electro and DnB I think (rhyme!). It has a kind of rapid beat and flow characteristic of drum & bass, but at the same time, it has a huge assortment of glitch elements that make me think dubstep. But it's way too fast to be dubstep or glitch hop o_O. I dunno. Take a look for yourself, heh; I discovered these guys awhile ago and I haven't heard much since, but their initial material was pretty darn cool to me!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN1gMlIVpj4 Preview Tracks for the Week(I couldn't find much DnB on Spotify! It's a SoundCloud list this time if you don't mind :) )[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/playlists/83540813" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="450" iframe="true" /]
