Pygmalion Recap: Larry And His Flask, The Dirty Feathers, Murder By Death, and Warpaint
With day 2 of Pygmalion Music Festival ready to kick off, let us take a quick look back at how it all started with a recap of Day 1.Larry And His FlaskThis Amish-looking band from Oregon put on a show that I was not expecting judging by the way they looked. I would describe their sound as hardcore folk, which is a genre I have never delved into. The bassist, Jeshua Marshall, played a double bass and was much more mobile than any other stand up bass player I had ever seen. He ran across the stage many times with his bass in hand. He, eventually, took a break from running around the stage to play a harmonica solo during their final song. There weren't many people in the crowd, but they got pretty into it. I was pretty bummed that I couldn't get any pictures of this band.The Dirty FeathersThe Dirty Feathers came out decked in red, white and blue gear, sporting a really patriotic look. This was the first band I have seen to include somewhat of a "hype man." The saxophonist stole the show within the first song, but the show was really all about the hype man. He danced around stage energetically wearing an eagle mask to go along with the patriotic theme. He was actually pretty distracting from the band...
