New Music Tuesday - 12/10/13
Let's focus on what we got left of the year. It's not a lot - most artists don't like to release their music right before year's end right after everyone is done buying things. That being said, we got some good albums out today that'll keep you in your local record store.Childish Gambino - Because the InternetMan oh man am I ready for this. It honestly felt like it was rushed, announced quickly and released shortly thereafter. The whole album is very structured (not in a bad way) and tells a specific yet slightly hard-to-follow narrative. A hip-hopera, if you will. It's been getting pretty mixed reviews, as expected for a sophomore album. Let's take a look at this here music video for "3005".Lee Bannon - Alternate/EndingsTime to switch to the RPM side of things. I love everything that comes out on Ninjatune these days, and this release is no exception. It's a very atmospheric feel, yet its got really intense rhythms and breaks behind all of it. It's a dnb-breaks-trapsterpiece. Take a listen to "216" (another song with a number for the name). Toy - Join The DotsWe've come full circle here in terms of genres. Toy's back with their 2nd LP, a very relaxed rock record. This one's been in the works since the beginning of this year and let's hope it doesn't fall victim to the sophomore slump. Point your ears towards the title track, "Join The Dots."New music is winding to a close this year, so you may see less albums on next weeks chart. Stay classy, internet.More Music Out This Week:
