Dreams of Being Hip: Social Media
Social media is over, at least the ones we use now. Facebook? Over a billion people on there. Twitter? Even politicians use that. We need something else.... What should we pick?Well, Tumblr is out. There's enough "unique" attention seekers on there. We, as hipsters, need to be in the weirdo spotlight.This could be a solid idea for us hipsters to have a new social network
But that's been done to death, and it's pretty much just normal networking. Which as we all know, is awful. Why would I want to talk to people when I can just roll my eyes at their messages and respond nicely.Maybe we can all network in the same place but just never be there at the same time? Write on a collective all perhaps, like this:
This way we can anonymously cross out each others dumb messages. But there's something about it that I don't like. Can't put my finger on it, maybe because I'm not artistic.Maybe we need to create our own social network. But what would we call it? Who would design it? And most importantly, how would we keep non-hipsters out? It's gotta be exclusive like everything hipsters do. Or at least appear so... I've got an idea now, let's use this website!
