Weekly Mouthful: The 92s

Often times, different media outlets will attempt to differentiate their video content by adding a weird n' wacky spin so people will say, "Hey! They're doin' something different!" Well, we're no different. This is The Weekly Mouthful, a video series featuring interviews with artists as they eat pizza.
The 92sA couple days before the semester, we hosted a house show/festival called "Festival of the Gods," at which Champaign-Urbana indie pop-rockers The 92s performed to an extensively sweaty crowd that filled up an entire living room, staircase, and porch. But that was okay, due to the band's ridiculous stage presence and energy that ultimately led to a shattered window and a minor trip to the emergency room. With two EPs out and a slew of Midwest dates on the way, including a headlining venture at Mike n' Molly's on Saturday, February 9, the band is making a significant mark on the local rock scene. And, even if you can't go to a 92s show, you might be able to catch them driving around and singing songs for their "Pilot Sessions." Basically, they're cool college kids who just like to rawk.In this installment of The Weekly Mouthful, frontman Dan Durley and bassist/multi-instrumentalist Rob Marshall discuss life after their most recent EP, girlfriends, Charlie Brown, and more, all while enjoying some scrumptious (albeit, slightly unhealthy) morsels of cheesy, crusty goodness.
