Weekly Mouthful: Middle Class Fashion
Often times, different media outlets will attempt to differentiate their video content by adding a weird n' wacky spin so people will say, "Hey! They're doin' something different!" Well, we're no different. This is The Weekly Mouthful, a video series featuring interviews with artists as they eat pizza.
St. Louis-based Middle Class Fashion oft-describes itself as being a fusion of Tegan and Sara and Tim Burton, basically implying a quirkier, but darker take on alt. pop. The piano-driven, cat-loving quartet (the band only recently picked up a fourth member) came trough Mike n' Molly's last week, touring off the early 2012 release of its debut Girl Talk and with a batch of 17 newly recorded songs under its belt. Before the show, though, Middle Class Fashion stopped by our office to talk about the birth of its new member, a forthcoming record, cats, cats, and more cats, all while munchin' on some pizza.
