[royalty] Free Pizza #2: Fiddlin' Frank Nelson
Fiddlin' Frank Nelson
"Buck Creek Gal"
Fiddlin' Frank Nelson is actually the stage name of the Kentucky-bred Fiddlin' Doc Roberts. Throughout his career, he released over 80 cuts on 11 different labels, earning him a spot as one of the most influential old-time country fiddlers ever. Not only was his music pretty darn country, he was definitely a country boy himself. For a couple weeks, he played fiddle for $50 per-week to perform on the National Barn Dance radio show in Chicago, but left pretty quickly because the big city noise wouldn't let him sleep. He died in 1978, but this instrumental, sparse as it is (you can only really make out a guitar and fiddle), is totally square-danceable to the max.Stream it below, or download it for free, here![youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR7FSUjSH34]
