Out today: Sep. 25, 2012

Every Tuesday is album release day (as well as video games, movies, etc.), but on a day so far from the weekend, it's a good feeling to wake up to some brand, spankin' new music.Efterklang - Piramida (4AD)Danish baroque pop trio Efterklang is up to its fourth studio LP. Combining the occasional glitch with signature orchestral pop, Efterklang has never been one to disappoint.Stream it here.

Murder by Death - Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon (Bloodshot)Murder by Death has always been one to sing lots and lots of songs about drinking, or maybe it's "Murder By Death has always been one to make lots and lots of songs while drinking." Whatever the case, the band plays a whole slew of aggressive folk-inspired songs one would expect listeners to drink and fight to. Cool.Stream it here. No Doubt - Push and Shove (Interscope)Long passed are the days where we could expect big band ska from No Doubt, but that's alright. Until Gwen Stefani became a "Holla Back Girl," No Doubt was a seminal pop powerhouse that, for some reason, wasn't like everything else coming out in the late 90s/early 00s. So, now that they're back, I think they well-deserve another shot at the pop-osphere.http://open.spotify.com/album/2GkBDQVh8nL44AzAnMBECQ

Preservation Hall Jazz Band - St. Peter and 57th (Rounder)The Preservation Hall Jazz Band has been around since the 60s, putting out records every so often that will occasionally feature guest vocalists who, for lack of a better descriptor, are really fucking cool. 2010's charitable Preservation featured Tom Waits on the very fitting "Tootie Ma is a Big Fine Thing" along with Andrew Bird and several other artists. St Peter and 57th is a live record featuring Tune-Yards' Merril Garbus, My Morning Jacket, Mos Def, Givers, and a whole bunch more.http://open.spotify.com/album/1JakuIQXRwhGvLygVDEwDh

Dum Dum Girls - End of Daze EP (Sub Pop)No irony here: Dum Dum Girls is 100% female and 100% rawk, with an emphasis on the raw. The EP has already been awarded "Best New Music" by that one music website... uh... Pitchfork. That's it. Yeah, so it's probably good.Stream it here.
