New Music Tuesday - 7/2/13
I get excited to write these every week. Seriously. Let's see what's new this week!Pretty Lights - A Color Map of the Sun The founder of the famed new wave of sample-based electronic jam music (it's a thing, trust me), Pretty Lights has been in the game for quite some time. Thing is though, he's done using other people's samples. For this record, he's bringing in all these crazy musicians, recording them to vinyl, and then sampling that. That's pretty rad. Also, fun fact: all of his albums are seven syllables. Even crazier. Anyways, enjoy!Editors - Weight of Your LoveEver since their guitarist Chris Urbanowicz left after the release of their third album in 2010, they were ready to call it quits. But at long last, in late 2012, they announced that they'd been working on a new album with just the three of them left. Also, this one's completely recorded live as well. See the trend here? Check it.Owen - L'Ami du PeupleSuper-cool Chicago musician, Owen, has his seventh release on a little label called Polyvinyl Record Company. He's played with his brother, Tim, in a bunch of bands around Chicago. But for his solo records, he takes his experiences playing with others and refines them into his own sound. Pretty magical, if you ask me. Listen please!More New Music Out Today:
