The Return of Broken Bells

After nearly 4 years since their initial album together, James Mercer of The Shins and auteur-producer Danger Mouse are planning to release another joint record under the moniker "Broken Bells." The album, titled After the Disco, will be released in January of 2014. The duo have been relatively quiet about what to expect, releasing a teaser trailer on their website with a snippet of new music from the effort. Both Mercer and Danger Mouse have been busy in the last 4 years -- Mercer gutted and reshaped "The Shins," releasing 'Port of Morrow' 2012 and completing a subsequent worldwide tour. For his part, Danger Mouse has been extremely busy as well. He worked on the well received "El Camino," produced with Electric Guest and Portugal the Man, and has plans to team up with Frank Ocean and U2 by the third quarter of 2014.
